Expressions

In thinking about my expectations . . .

I expect us to be as commited to each other as strong as our feelings for each other.

I expect us to be there for each other
Through thick and thin
Through all of lifes highs
As well as the ultimate lows - no matter what that might be

I expect us to shoulder the burdens together - no matter who those may belong to

I expect us to be emotional - about us, about the children, about the family, about the friends - and I expect us to support each others emotions, listen to them, accept them as our own, and go on doing what only we can do about it, even if that is nothing

I expect us to walk through fire, hell, high water as well as walk in fields of green, smelling the roses, climbing trees, and playing for all its worth

I expect us to be there when the chips are down
I expect us to be there when the greatest accomplishments happen and to be major players in the celebration

I expect us to laugh a lot
I expect us to talk a lot
I expect us to be touchy feely, lovey dovey and all that jazz
I expect us to do great things
I expect us to make blunders and fall from time to time
I expect us to love each other enough to get through anything

I expect us to be so in love, that we get so terribly aggravated with each other, drive each other bonkers, and still be crazy in love

I expect us to make up - passionately

I expect us to be there for the kids, the family and the friends - and help them out in all the ways that we can

I expect us to truly communicate to and with each other our wants, needs, feelings - I expect us to not agree about these things all of the time - but to validate each other on them - and support each other - even if we do not agree with the position

I expect us to work together on our problems so that they come to a satisfactory conclusion for us both

I expect us to be a team, a partnership
I expect us to be ourselves
I expect us to spend time alone
I expect us to spend time apart with other people
I expect us to spend time in the same room and not talk
I expect us to read books
I expect us to go to movies, dinner, and hang with friends or family
I expect us to do nothing at all

I expect us to set goals, meet those goals, and make new ones - for ourselves individually and as a couple

I expect us to assist each other in meeting those goals

I expect us to push each other to our limits and joyfully find that we have none and go further

I expect us to make good on our promises to each other
I expect us to keep our commitments to each other

I expect us to give us our all and then some

My expectations sound limitless, yet they are simple, decent, expressions of my commitment to us and to our love and to the life we someday plan on having and to the life we currently have together

Might I ask . . . What are your expectations?
