Thinking...

For me is a dangerous thing I know - [grins]

Had that second interview for that second job last week. I was the final person. Don't know how many were interviewed before me, don't care.

With the loss of insurance for one child weighing on me (and other losses there too), plus the necessity of a new home (with larger property taxes) looming - I need a job. That pays well with health insurance.

No, I do not want one. I get ill (literally) just talking about it or thinking about it. I know that's wacked but any one who knows me understands why it happens.

I had a message from the guy to call him on Friday, I called him back without any response from him so I left another message this AM. Its going on noon and still no call, doubt I will hear from him at all, so I pretty much figure they went with someone else.

If only they had not gone on a hiring freeze I would have been working for them for a year now. Such is life.

I have a back up plan which could net me (and family) about $600 per month. I would be able to afford health insurance to cover two, but still no dental - gah, don't know what that will cost me next visit to the dentist.

I had a thought about another prospect but I'm kinda afraid of following up on it. But its fear of the unknown that holds us back most times isn't it?

Did some extra house hunting yesterday, and info gathering on the houses already located. Found a house on For Sale By Owner. Drove by it. Checked the auditor for property taxes only to learn that it had been sold at the beginning of this month. Ah well, that one is out - the back yard looked to be too wooded for children.

We decided upon two houses (in the same area) that would be worth looking into. I was waiting for a possible return call on the job before I set an appointment but the realtor called me first. We are going Thursday to view them both.

They are in basically the same subdivision so that's good. Not too much driving to see the other one.

The first one we are going to view is the one Stan really said he was interested in viewing.

The realtor had called to suggest this one I had seen on TV (Comey Sheperd does this weekly house thing on TV showing all the homes they have for sale). Its a very troubled house. I told her that I would not want to view that one because of it.

She said she thought I wouldn't want to but wanted to hear it from me.

I'm not the average home buyer. I have advantages that the average home buyer doesn't have. I know how to check for liens, foreclosures, taxes, etc. The things a title examiner would do.

The realtor is aware of this because I surprised her last week when we went out to look at homes.

So, Thursday is the day to see these houses. I will obviously post my thoughts then.

Given
Now you know and knowing is half the battle. ;)

Still no phone call from Lens Crafters - even after me being gone and everything yesterday. I have had 4 hang up calls now on my machine. Don't have caller ID to even figure out who it was and for sure I'm not going to do the *69 call back and pay .75 just to find out it was a wrong number. C'est la vie!

Oh, and the part about being hesitant in making a call - is to Tim's best friend James to see if he needs any work done to help out his assistant Rhonda who works for him and his dad. That would be so cool if I could work from home and do his stuff. But as I said - I'm a bit scared to do that.

So, not that you probably haven't considered it, but Citi is Always hiring, and insurance starts day One, is Great coverage, and the pay is decent. They have pretty good career paths depending on what you're looking for, so it might be worth giving a look see, they have collections, customer service, Soloman Smith Barney, Banking, and a pigeon in a pear tree. use my name as a reference and I'll split the referal bonus w/you if you get hired on!

You are so pushing that Citi aren't you. *grins*

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Citi in KENTUCKY?

Even when we move we will still live too far away for me to drive that.

If they had something closer - say - Springdale - that would be a strong possibility to think about. And for sure I'd be touting your name so that they would know who directed me there. :)
