Feeling better already

See, venting, talking, etc. has really helped me out. I feel better.

I was not trying to be mean. I was upset. I needed to vent. I have vented. I have talked, chatted, laughed.

Today is going to be a better day now for me.

I have printed off of the application for the SS office to change my last name on my SSN card. I have to have a certified copy of my divorce decree which I can go get at the Clerk's office. I have a copy, I just need to get it certified. I also have to have a certified copy of my marriage license which I'm picking up today.

I have to mail all of this out because the SS office hours are 9 - 4. I work 8:30 to 4 currently. How inconvenient. So I have to mail all of this documentation out.

Then after work today I plan on going to the local license bureau and getting my driver's license changed to Holmes.

WOOO. So good to finally be able to do this.

I am also getting the cards redone that they send out as a novelty. They finally came in (which indicates that the Probate Court has record of the marriage). However, one said my last name was "itubbs". bigstan and Lil Bro got a big kick out of that. So did Ms. Moon at Probate who typed it when I told her about it this AM.

So, I'm leaving the office now. To have the decree certified and to pick up my stuff at Probate.

I'm so excited about getting everything finally changed over to my name of Holmes.

Lucky you.

I think I'll have to end up doing something along the lines of hyphenating my name with his name due to the legal complications of having the same name as the ex wife.

He thinks he might be able to convince her to change it, but I won't hold my breath on that one. I'll stick with putting symbols in my name. Safer and all.

Didn't think of that
I've gotten used to calling you "Ifer" for so long that I forget your name is JENNifer.

I hope the middle names are different, if not, that's definitely interesting.

Kiss your Boo for us!

It took luckeyisis about 6 years to get her SSN switched over after we got married. You're doing pretty good.

Oh yes, the SSN is ever so conveinant and helpful.
Especially when you are on your fourth replacement.

I hear that if you don't do that and you work under your married name, then something else happens with your money paid in. I don't recall exactly what I was told, but I heard that it somehow does not get applied properly to your SS retirement.

Of course I heard this YEARS ago and it probably was wrong back then too.

Oh well better get it changed then. Am I even going to get social security when I retire? I mean really what's it good for anyway. I'll probably get the equivalent of about $100 a month now if I get anything by the time I retire. That's what 401K is for.

Oh yeah I just thought of something else, I'm actually working under my maiden name right now anyway. So all's good for now.

I guess its all good then.

The one person I know who didn't change her SSN from her prior married name and is now working under her new married name - I would think she has them all FUBAR'd.

But what do I know? SHE is the one who works SSN claims files for attorneys, not me.

OMG - ugh
So I go to get the Decree certified. With all the crap going on at the Butler County Clerk's office between the Clerk and the Domestic Relations Court it now costs $2 per PAGE to certify a document.

It cost me almost $20 to certify my divorce decree.
